There are two ways to 'Download Footage' from a DVR. The first option is to select the 'Video Download' button directly from the vehicle list:
The second option is directly from the Playback Video window by clicking on 'Download' in the top right hand corner:
Either option will open the 'Request Video' pop-up window where you can select the required camera channels, date, time and option to hide the video. (This is for hiding video requests from other users if required):
Submitting the request will show a message of the predicted file download size and asking you to confirm you are happy to proceed. Please note, it is important to ensure you have an adequate data plan in place to download footage. If you are unsure then please contact your account manager or NIBC Support Team to confirm.
It is also recommended to only download 30secs-2mins of footage for an incident where possible.
Once you confirm the download request you will see a message in the bottom right corner to confirm the download has commenced:
To view the status of your download request, or to view the downloaded footage go to the reports tab by selecting the reports icon from the top menu navigation bar:
Then select the 'Camera Smart Pro' report from the drop down list. Select the requested date range and run the report. If you chose to hide the video request when submitting the video request then you will also need also select the option 'Show Hidden Requests':
The Camera Smart Pro report will show your request, completed channels will appear with the status 'Ready' and can be downloaded, played or emailed directly from this report. All incomplete requests will show with the status 'Requested', keep reloading the report until all channels have completed.
Each time a video download completes you will receive a pop-up notification as shown below. Running the Camera Smart Pro report again will allow you to access the download.
Selecting 'Play' on an individual channel request will play the video in the browser:
Keep refreshing the Camera Smart Pro report until all channels show as completed. You can download, play or email the files by clicking on the links to the right hand side of the files:
The videos will automatically be merged once the channels have downloaded, the video will appear as an extra channel on the Camera Smart Pro report called 'All Merged'. You can download, play or email this in the same way as the single channel files.
You can also email a link directly to the footage by selecting 'Email' from the Camera Smart Pro report. This will open your default email client with the details of the footage request as shown below:
Troubleshooting - Popup Blocked
If the pop-up live stream player is blocked then it is likely that Chrome is blocking pop-ups.
1. Click on the pop-up blocked icon in the top right corner
2. Select to always all pop-ups and redirects
3. Click Done to complete. You may need to reload the page for the change to take effect.
Troubleshooting - User Permissions
If you receive errors when trying to download footage or do not have the buttons to request the download on your login then it is likely you do not have the appropriate permissions to access the footage.
